Indian Pipe

Today I came across this beautiful bunch of flowers. I thought it was some strange looking mushroom, because of the wax-like appearance. But googling for 'mushroom that looks like snowdrop flower' led me to the solution: it's not fungus itself, but a parasite that lives on certain fungi. It's name is Indian Pipe (Monotropa Uniflora).

Indian Pipe taps into a fungus that taps into a tree for nutrients. Tree and fungus exchange nutrients to each other, the Indian Pipe only take nutrients, it doesn't give anything back. It's only being pretty for bumblebees and for me.
