Contemplating

The name 'pansy' is derived from the French verb 'penser' (thinking). The little flowers resemble human faces that nod forward in August, as if in deep thought (wikipedia).

Do you know the pansy flowers are edible? Preheat the oven to 350F. Meanwhile carefully clean and dry the petals and brush a thin layer of beaten egg white on both sides of the petals. Gently cover both sides of the flower with superfine sugar and place them on a cookie sheet lined with aluminium foil. Place in oven until petals are dried and stiff.
