I've always wanted to have a pasta machine. Not that I was making pasta all the time (not at all actually...), but still. It's so cool to make your own pasta! Until recently, my boyfriend didn’t agree with my wish: why buy an expensive pasta machine when you’re not making that much pasta yourself? But I was lucky: running into a cheap machine at a discount supermarket made him change his mind. After my experiments with ravioli and tagliatelle a few weeks ago, he made lots of lasagne sheets this weekend. And since we weren't going tot use them until last night, we laid them out on the table to dry...They were yummy!
Of course, you don't need a pasta machine to make your own pasta, just some biceps and some patience will do :-). At Jamie Oliver's site you can find a great receipe.
